Egyptian Health and Interior Ministry said on 24 December a car bomb ripped through a regional police headquarters in northern Egypt killing at least 12 people and wounding 134. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, which came a day after a militant group based in the Sinai Peninsula warned of strikes against the military.
