The Baha'i shrine is seen in the northern city of Haifa on Sept. 29, 2013. A gold-enamel domed shrine set among tranquil, dramatically terraced gardens looks out over Israel's busy port city of Haifa and the Mediterranean beyond. Baha'is believe all the great religions are signs of a single divine purpose. They espouse world peace, but their holiest places and world centre happen to be in what is now Israel, at the heart of the Middle East's political cauldron. Photo by Saeed Qaq
